AC dynamometer is the use of three-phase alternator as loading equipment, asynchronous motor by the frequency converter to provide variable frequency driving power, and accurately control its torque and speed. Compared with other dynamometers, AC dynamometers have the characteristics of easy power control, high torque and speed control accuracy, short dynamic response time, flexible and diverse structure, high efficiency and high energy saving and reliability.
AC dynamometer has two working modes, which can run as both an electric motor and a generator. When running as a generator, the electric energy emitted by the dynamometer can be consumed on the load resistance and when conditions permit. It can also be fed into the grid for utilization. AC power dynamometer mainly includes three-phase synchronous motor dynamometer, winding asynchronous motor dynamometer and commutatorless motor dynamometer.
AC dynamometer is composed of an AC motor, torque speed sensor, AC frequency conversion speed regulation system and AC dynamometer measurement and control instrument. Their working principle is to reverse the alternating current emitted by the AC motor into direct current through the frequency converter, and then invert to alternating current to the Internet. The AC variable frequency speed regulation system controls the speed and torque of the prime mover by adjusting the grid current of the motor. The dynamometer can easily achieve two-way loading, and at the same time can still provide sufficient loading capacity when the speed reaches 0r/min; Its loading characteristics are zero speed to rated speed is constant torque characteristics, rated speed to maximum speed is constant power characteristics, which fully conforms to the load characteristics of power machinery; The electric dynamometer can be used as a power mechanical inverted drag prime mover.
